Come home to the fullness of your humanity
Meet Stephanie Brumfield
Hi, I’m Stephanie Brumfield. I’m a holistic spiritual therapist. I’m also an astrologer, eternal seeker, and student. I can usually be found shuffling between multiple books at once or on a research deep-dive. I am a mother, a stepmother, a mystic, and a divine child. I’m deeply attuned to the subtle and sensitive aspects of life.
Fourth House Therapy
Welcome to Fourth House Therapy, inspired by the astrological Fourth House, the most private and intimate place in our chart. This space is dedicated to helping you explore your emotional roots and discover your inner sanctuary. It's a place where you can dive into the complexities of familial bonds, inherited traits, ancestral lines, and psychic imprints, fostering a connection to the intimate, often hidden aspects of your being. Here, you travel through the subconscious, listening to the whispers of dreams and the inner child, in a quest that reaches beyond the tangible to touch your spiritual and emotional core. You are encouraged to cultivate your inner mother, offering yourself the care and protection needed, while exploring the concept of 'home' in a way that resonates with the grounded and protective qualities of the Fourth House. This exploration invites you to connect deeply with yourself and redefine what 'home' means to you.
“There is no greater agony than bearing an untold story inside you.”

Services and Specialties
Therapy for Sensitive, Unconventional, and Neurodivergent Folx
I work with individuals who often feel pushed out of their family systems, scapegoated, or misunderstood due to their belief systems, sensitivity, neurodivergence, or values that differ from the mainstream. These individuals often embody the black sheep archetype. They typically feel misplaced or misunderstood within their family of origin or the broader community, experiencing a profound sense of loss and grief for the community and familial connections they lack. Many are undergoing a spiritual awakening or emergence, grappling with a worldview that significantly differs from mainstream society or their familial beliefs. They crave a space where their unique experiences, views, and parts can be deeply understood and validated. At Dr. Mia Hetényi teachers, this is the journey from black sheep to holy outsider.
Depth Psychotherapy for Astrologers, Mystics, Healers, and Spiritual Seekers
By incorporating archetypal astrology and symbols into depth psychotherapy, I work with clients who are not only seeking to delve deep into their psyche but also understand the broader cosmic influences on their lives. This approach helps integrate the paradoxes of their lives and gain deeper insights into their journey. These clients are seeking to be understood by their therapist for their spiritual views and seeking a place to explore their different parts. They want a therapist who speaks a similar language and can incorporate a spiritual lens into therapy through tools such as dreamwork, earth-based practice, archetypal astrology, or mythology. I enjoy working with all types of spiritual seekers including: mystics, astrologers, astrology enthusiasts, intuitives, energy workers, witches, priestesses, pagans, and other types of healers.
Holistic Therapy for Empaths, Highly Sensitive People, and Autistics
I work with empathetic individuals, highly sensitive people (HSP), empaths, and autistic individuals who often navigate overwhelming self-criticism, anxiety, and shame due to their deep emotional sensitivity and need for solitude or deep engagement with interests. My focus includes supporting late-diagnosed autistic women, many of whom have felt alienated in a world that seems to misunderstand them, as they journey toward embracing their authentic selves. These individuals face challenges with setting boundaries, people-pleasing, and perfectionism, which can lead to burnout and disconnection. The therapeutic goal is to develop healthier boundaries, reduce self-criticism, and embrace authenticity, aiding in the discovery of the authentic self, free from overwhelm. Embracing the spiritual dimension of autism and empathy, I view these qualities as unique perspectives that enrich our collective experience and pave the way to a more compassionate, inclusive world for those who have felt out of place.
Spiritual Therapy for Mothers, Conconcious Fertility, Conception, and Parenting
I specialize in supporting individuals who seek to embrace parenting, mothering, conception, and fertility through a spiritual and holistic lens. Many of my clients have experienced profound connections or sensed their spirit baby before conception, and wish to explore fertility, motherhood, and conception from this deeply spiritual and holistic perspective. An important part of this journey for many is the healing of ancestral wounds and mother wounds before the arrival of their baby. I work with women and individuals at all stages of motherhood, including pre-conception, pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond, helping them to navigate these experiences with spiritual depth and holistic insight.
“Trauma is not what happens to us, but what we hold inside in the absence of an empathetic witness.”
- Peter Levine
Therapy for Childhood Trauma and Healing the Inner Child
I am deeply committed to the healing journey of individuals who have experienced childhood trauma. My approach centers on the transformative power of storytelling and the profound healing that comes from being witnessed in one’s pain and resilience. I guide my clients through the spiral and generative process of grief, recognizing that for many, tending to the inner child is a crucial part of their healing journey. Together, we work to give the inner child a voice, acknowledging and witnessing the pain that has often been silenced or overlooked. This process involves cultivating a loving inner mother, a task that can be particularly challenging for those who have navigated the turbulent waters of childhood trauma.
The Underworld of Motherhood
I offer support to mothers and stepmothers navigating the darker, often unspoken aspects of motherhood—the "underworld of motherhood," where challenges like adjusting to new roles, coping with traumatic births, struggling with breastfeeding, or battling feelings of inadequacy and loneliness emerge. I provide a safe space for women who feel overwhelmed by the harsh realities they didn't anticipate, including those grappling with shame or rage toward their motherhood experience. Additionally, I extend my support to stepmothers and individuals in blended families, who face unique challenges such as stigma, confusion, and resentment. The goal is to find understanding, healing, and a sense of belonging in their roles, acknowledging and addressing the complex emotions that accompany the journey of motherhood and stepmotherhood.
Motherhood Ambivalence and Healing the Mother Wound
I provide a compassionate and safe space for women who are navigating the complex emotions surrounding motherhood, including fears, ambivalence, and the desire to heal from past wounds before embarking on the journey of parenthood. I work with individuals contemplating motherhood or parenthood, who may be carrying concerns stemming from their own childhood experiences or the need to heal the mother wound. Additionally, I support women who are processing the emotional aftermath of abortions, pregnancy terminations, or previous egg donations, helping them address fears of getting pregnant again, and the guilt or shame that might accompany these past experiences
Facing the Ghosts in the Nursery
I work with parents who are navigating the challenges of parenting with a background of painful childhood wounds, complex trauma, or PTSD. These individuals may find themselves feeling particularly challenged in their roles as parents, encountering triggers through their interactions with their children, and coping with emotional and somatic flashbacks. My role involves helping them through the process of reparenting themselves while they nurture their children, addressing their complex relationship with grief and the fears associated with becoming overwhelmed by it. Many are dealing with deep-seated shame and are in the process of uncovering memories from their past that have long been hidden away. These parents are courageous cycle breakers, seeking to transform their pain into strength for themselves and their families. I aim to support them in their journey towards healing, providing a compassionate space for them to grow and break free from the cycles that have held them back.
